Creative Writing for Parents
We offer a range of ways to support your child’s writing, from after-school clubs to small-group courses and private tuition, all designed to build confidence, creativity, and strong writing skills.
After-school clubs
Our after-school clubs are delivered in schools across London, providing a structured and enjoyable way for children to develop their writing each week.
Run during term time at your child’s school
Small group setting
Focus on both creativity and core writing skills
Calm, supportive environment
Find a club at your child’s school: view and book clubs
If your child’s school doesn’t currently offer a club, we’d be happy to explore setting one up. We offer a referral scheme where if you successfully introduce us to the school, your child can attend free of charge for their first term.
Online courses and holiday programmes
We run small-group online programmes throughout the year, including during term-time after school and during school holidays.
These sessions are designed to provide more focused development in areas such as:
Creative writing and storytelling
Building confidence and fluency
Preparation for 7+ and 11+ assessments
All programmes are taught in small groups and led by experienced teachers who adapt sessions to suit the needs of the group.
Private tuition (1:1)
Bespoke writing tuition tailored to your child’s individual needs, goals, and learning style.
Our tutors are writers as well as experienced educators, combining strong academic teaching with real creative practice. This allows us to support both technical development and something equally important, helping children build confidence in their ideas and find their own voice.
We take time to understand each child’s starting point and adapt our teaching accordingly, whether the focus is entrance exam preparation, school writing, or creative development.
Sessions are available on a one-to-one basis, including specialist tutoring led by our Director, John Sheil.
Who we support
We work with children at a range of stages, including those who:
Need to build confidence and fluency in their writing
Are preparing for 7+ or 11+ entrance assessments
Enjoy creative writing and want to develop their ideas further
Would benefit from more personalised support
Our approach is always shaped around the individual child, helping them make meaningful progress while continuing to enjoy the process.
"The fact that the tutors are writers themselves really stood out to us. Our daughter has not only improved her vocabulary and structure, but now genuinely enjoys writing and expresses her ideas with far more confidence." – Parent of London prep school pupil
